Camarillo and Oxnard water
- The City of Camarillo serves about two-thirds of Camarillo’s residents. In 2024 it delivered about 62% local groundwater from the Fox Canyon Aquifer, pumped by four city wells, two of which feed the North Pleasant Valley Desalter, and about 38% imported water, in 2024.
- The City’s imported water measured 148 mg/L on average, 143 to 153 (about 8.6 grains per gallon), in 2024; its well water 168 mg/L on average, 78 to 354, with the desalter (about 9.8 grains per gallon), in 2024. Both are hard.
- The City’s North Pleasant Valley Groundwater Desalter is designed to produce about 3,800 acre-feet of drinking water a year and began producing drinking water in January 2023.
- Camrosa Water District serves eastern Camarillo, mainly Mission Oaks, and the Santa Rosa Valley; in 2025 its sources measured 140 mg/L for its imported water, 132 from its reverse osmosis plant and 276 from its GAC treatment plant, but 404 to 572 at its wells, in 2025.
- California American Water serves Las Posas Estates; Pleasant Valley Mutual Water Company serves homes in the Camarillo Heights area.
- The City of Oxnard’s water averaged 419 mg/L on average across the system, 131 to 930 (about 24 grains per gallon), in 2025: very hard.

California rules
- California has no state license for carpet cleaning; the Contractors State License Board’s flooring license (C-15) covers installing and finishing floors.
- Flooring work needs a Contractors State License Board license unless it is a minor job, meaning under $1,000 in total for labor, materials and everything else, with no building permit, not part of a larger project or divided into smaller contracts, and done by someone with no employees whose ads don’t claim a CSLB license; an ad for such a job must say the person has no license (Business and Professions Code 7048 and 7027.2, as amended by AB 2622).
- Camarillo requires a business tax certificate before any business works in the city, including businesses based elsewhere (Camarillo Municipal Code).
- A landlord may deduct cleaning only to restore move-in cleanliness, never for ordinary wear and tear, and returns the deposit within 21 days (Civil Code 1950.5).
- Recording a confidential call, or any call to or from a cell or cordless phone, takes every party’s consent (Penal Code 632 and 632.7).
- An advertised price must include all mandatory fees and charges other than government taxes and fees (Civil Code 1770(a)(29)).
