The Springs Fire started on May 2, 2013, beside Highway 101 at Camarillo Springs Road, and burned 24,251 acres by CAL FIRE’s count. In December 2014 a storm sent mud and debris off the burned slope above San Como Lane: Ventura County fire officials counted 16 homes damaged and 10 red-tagged.

The homes, and who sets the rules
The Housing Element lists two existing senior communities here, Camarillo Springs Mobile Home Park, with 261 spaces, and The Springs, with 259 single-family homes, plus The Greens at Camarillo Springs, 248 homes, which was pending approval when the plan was adopted in 2021.
A mobile home park and a planned community each set their own rules for outside companies, parking and hours. Read them, or call the office, before you book.

If the home is in the mobile home park, tell the company when you ask, so it can plan its water and its machine, and check the park’s rules for outside companies first. In The Springs’ single-family homes, count the rooms and any stairs; the cost calculator gives a national range for them before you ask for a written price.
Questions from Camarillo Springs
Will a carpet cleaner come into the mobile home park?
Yes, under the park’s rules. Tell the company it is a manufactured home and where it can park; if the hoses can’t reach, it brings a portable machine.
Does a nearby fire mean the carpet needs cleaning?
Only if smoke smell lingers in the carpet, the furniture or the drapes. A cleaning that reaches the fibers usually removes light smoke odor; soot on walls and ceilings is restoration work, usually through insurance.
